I bought the December 2007 Donation Present for 4.5 mil and expected to get a choice to pick out the items out of that collection (like the May 2009 Collection-which I got to chose the Zig Zag Dress). So I opened the 2007 Donation Present and I got some cheap item (only worth about 500k) I didnt want. I didnt get to pick out an item, one just randomly popped out. So is there a difference to the Donation Present and The Collection?

Yes, if you open Donation Presents you get a random item from that month.

If you open a Collection you get to pick the item you want from that month.

Being able to choose your gift is fairly new, it started in 2009 not sure if January or Feb so all gifts before then you do not get a choice. hope this helps in future.
