I have the THICKEST/waviest/curliest light blond air and it just drives me insane. i couldn't say how much id love to just get out of the shower with pin-straight hair and have it DRY like that. Maybe if i have time (or anyone interested in helping me in this thread xD;) i could post a picture of my current hair.

Sure, some people look amazing with curly hair and embrace it. People tell ME to embrace it, but it's just not.. my style? idk. idc.

Anywho.. Chemical/perm starightening. Is it safe? Would you recommend it? I'm getting kind of desperate here lD; But I've been thinking about and considering it for a long time and my older sister told me she can take me to get it done.. But i think i need some further advise on this. 8);

I've never done one, but I straight my hair every day with this:

A perm straightening will for sure damage your hair, but if you're that desperate i would do it anyways. Tough, you should do some research about appropriate products to use before and after. There's no much more i can say, but i hope you find better help. (:

Anything chemical will most likely damage your hair, but I would do it anyway. I'm vain enough to prefer damaged, more attractive hair (was that an oxymoron? haha) to annoying healthy hair.

It's painful and ruins your hair. When your hair starts to grow you'll have curly roots and thus have to get a touch. I believe though that you'll still have to straighten your hair and it's not going to be stick straight all the time. Not 100% sure about this

I once knew someone who had a chemical starightening done to their hair and had to cut most of it of because it was so badly damaged. I don't think its worth the risk.

My hair has been ruined several times from a chemical straightner.

And now I'm stuck with putting that crap in my hair for the rest of my life >_>

IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU. /endfaketerror.

I know this girl who gets it done once a month. She has nappy gross hair. It's burnt all the way through It looks and feels like straw. And she still straightens it. Its short and there's hardly any to straighten. Its GROSS! I would NEVER tell anyone they should do it, cause it doesn't look very good.

Graduated, now time to get on with my life.

Working on; Achievements. These things are hard!

I'll trade you my wavy/straight hair for your super-curly hair. You can have my straightening iron, too.

But seriously...I wouldn't go in for the chemical straightening, personally. It doesn't seem, to me, like the pros outweigh the cons.

Wow thanks for the input guys! xD

It looks like the process is more dangerous if your hair is already in bad shape.. But i never really straighten it, (other than the front/bangs area.), so it's not too damaged. But gah, i love when it is straightened :/ Ill try and scrounge up an identity-less picture of my current hair. lD;

Hah im kind of with laurenrawrr on the whole subject... My curls aren't too-too bad. And i'm thinking maybe it would look better after i grow it out more? Gah i can't decide.

after reading some articles i would deffinatley only get it done by a professional, but after reading your comments i'm starting to consider not attempting it at all o_o
