Alice felt the pat from Laurie and was happy she'd came. Alice bit her lip and tears strained to be free as Ryan talked. She was right. Eddie always knew how to cheer her up. She let down her guard in her sadness and her tattoos started to reappear and the rain started to evaporate on her skin. Adrian took her hand. 'Control, Alice!' he whispered in her ear. Her eyes widened, she hadn't meant for that to happen. She quickly regained control over herself. She bent down and picked up a handful of dirt. She threw it into the grave as well. 'Revenge shall be mine, Eddie.' she whispered as a tear fallowed the dirt she then turned to leave the cemetery. She looked at the man with a sign. 'Meet me at at Hollis' home.' she said in french. The man made a slight nod. Alice sighed then stepped into her car. She closed the door quickly then let her powers go. Her tattoos glowed and her eyes turned teal. She let her tears roam freely over her face. She took off hr glasses and held her face in her hands.

Dan bent to the ground and added a hand full of dirt. He turned to see Alice say something to a man he suddenly recognized. He noticed a flash of blue after she shut the car door. He walked to the car and got in. He held Alice's hand. 'It'll be okay.' he whispered. Adrian did the same as the others. He went to his car, fallowed closely by his assistant. He to, noticed the blue flash and cringed. He knew the pain she endured, both emotionally and physically, when she was around the death of a friend and using her powers for this long. He felt sorry for her.

Jon noticed Laurie's comforting gesture toward Alice. He noticed the emotion that she felt as Ryan spoke. He could feel no sympathy for her. He could not understand why she would care so much for somebody who did things that even Alice could not accept. He fallowed the task of placing a handful of mud and rock into the hole where Blake's casket lie.

The funeral was technically over. There would be nothing afterwards, no 'reception' and certainly no wake. Eddie wouldn't have liked that. Laurie knew that now was the only time she'd be able to talk to Jon before it became too late and everything got even worse. She pulled him aside after he put the dirt in the grave.

"Jon. We need to talk..." Laurie had to cringe at the use of the cliche expression, but it really was accurate. She pulled him over even further, out of hearing range from the others, sadness on her face. She looked up at him, hesitating.

Ryan and Adia followed Alice and Dan into the car after dropping their own handfuls of dirt into the grave. They sat down in the car, wet hair dripping water on the leather seats. Ryan was still crying and Adia was slightly uncomfortable. She knew she needed to comfort her friend, to be there for her, but it was difficult. She had never been in such a situation before and it was all a little overwhelming. There were so many new things happening all at once. It was a little difficult to deal with. Adia could only imagine how Ryan was feeling.

"What are we going to do now?" She asked meekly. She was tired and really wanted to sleep, but she had a feeling that wouldn't be part of the game plan for a while.

'What is it Laurie?' Jon asked. He saw the expresion on her face. He knew what was coming. He had seen it before. He'd seen his own future.

Alice quickly tried to pull herself together. Dan looked at Ryan and Adia. 'I heard Alice menton Hollis Mason's house. You've probably heard about him. I guess we're going there.' he looked at Alice. She nodded. 'Y-Yes.' she bit her lip. She pulled the gloves off and rubbed her wrists. They were red and looked sore.

Laurie looked down at her feet, hoping the tears in her eyes could still pass for raindrops. She had been dreading this moment for longer than she cared to admit, and she truly was sorry that it had come to this, but she just couldn't stay any longer. "Jon," she began, "I...I don't know how to say this, but just hear me out."

She looked at him then, looked into his eyes and saw not a trace of confusion. Of course he knew that this was going to happen. He knew his whole future and this was no exception. "I can't be with you anymore. You've...you've lost touch, Jon. You don't see me anymore. Whenever you look at me I feel like you're just trying to figure out a problem, or just looking right through me. If you can't treat me like a person and not some little experiment in human behavior, which you don't seem to care about anyway, then I can't do it. I just...can't. I'm sorry."

At this point she really was crying and no amount of rain was going to mask that. She couldn't hide her emotions away behind a mask, not for Jon. She owed him that much, at least.

Adia nodded and let her head fall back against the seat. Perhaps she couldn't get her full eight hours, but who said she couldn't take a quick cat-nap? She closed her eyes and took a deep breathe, willing herself to block out the noise in the car.

Ryan just stared out the window, holding back tears of her own. She ignored the others, focusing on not missing Uncle Eddie as much as she really did. It hurt to much to miss him that much, and Ryan just couldn't handle it. She prided herself on being strong, but it was just too much all at once. She just needed them to stop talking so she could concentrate on not breaking into wet sobs along with everyone else. She needed to be strong.

Jon nodded and put a hand on her shoulder. 'I...Understand.' he said. He knew what was going to happen and yet it still surprised him. 'If you are happier this way, then I guess I cannot stop you.'

Dan shook his head. 'I really hadn't expected you'd last that long without colaps--' he looked over at Alice, who had fallowed Adia's example and fallen asleep. The difference was she was in a deep sleep and and was curled up into a ball on the seat. 'Never mind.' He looked at Ryan. He recognized the signs of internal struggle and kept quiet.

Laurie opened her mouth to say something but stopped, shocked by Jon's reply. 'I understand?' Laurie had not expected that, not at all. "Jon..." She looked at him, pleading. She wanted desperately for him to fight for her. She wasn't sure it would change her mind, but she wanted to know that somewhere in there he still cared about people. Not necessarily her, just...people. He was almost gone, she could see it in his eyes. He had nothing left to keep him with them and Laurie was worried. But she couldn't put herself through it anymore. She couldn't stand there and suffer in the hopes that the Jon she knew might come back. It just wasn't worth it.

Laurie brought her hand up to rest on Jon's shoulder and gave him one last kiss. Then she turned and made her way to the car, silent tears trickling down her cheeks. "I'm sorry..." She whispered, glancing back at him, before getting in the car.

She looked around and saw that Alice and Adia were asleep and Ryan and Dan were doing...well, nothing actually. She went to sit by Dan, grabbing his hand and twining her fingers through his. She rested her head on his shoulder and let herself cry for just a moment longer.
