So he already told me today he got me a gift. And since it's one year since we started dating, I want to get him something too. I just don't know what to get him.

So here's some background information that might help you figure out what kind of guy he is.

He just finished a university philosophy course and loved it. He sings, usually in the alto range. He's 19. He's an amazing swing dancer. He loves playing Dungeons & Dragons as the Dungeon Master. He listens to everything from Dire Straights to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Tallis to Rajaton. He's very sweet. He's also very silly. He likes sci-fi/fantasy. Usually dresses in collared shirts and ties, or sweaters. So necklaces are out.

Please help me girls and guys!

What if you bake him something? That way, you are the one making it and guys love baked goods. It will mean more to him since you took them time. And, if all else fails, a gift card to a store he shops at

With birthdays I usually give something he can really use, or what he needs, or what he already wanted for a long time. Though, for our yearly anniversaries, I always try to look for something for us both to do together. Like a concert of someone he already wanted to see for a long time, a weekend out somewhere special, an evening with the two of us alone with homemade dinner and massage (and all that yada yada),.. whatever really.

Reading what he's like, perhaps try to find an amazing swing café somewhere where he hasn't been yet, and take him there on surprise? Just tell him to dress up that day ^^ Or a concert of one of those bands he like? Or just a day out, where you plan everything. Can be nice already as well :)

The beauty of surprises, is giving it in an original style, and most of all: the thought behind the gift. In my opinion, anyway. Not necessarily the gift itself. It doesn't always have to be purely materialistic.

Congratulations anyway in advance, for your anniversary (:

I'd go with something that's special to you two, as it's not just any anniversary. For mine and my boyfriend's 1 year he made me a book with pictures of us and stuff, and i painted him a canvas with all the things he likes on it. Idk if that gives you any ideas, but i'm just saying it doesn't have to be uber expensive, just something that represents how you feel

Good Luck. My one year with my boyfriend is on Tuesday. I won't post what I got him here since he occasionally uses Subeta, but I know I was really torn about what to get him. Maybe a present that shows that you know his hobbies/interests and support them?

Like is there a book series he's always wanted? Or a D & D book or set he's always lusted over but wouldn't buy for himself?

I know it doesn't sound very romantic, but it shows that you care about what he likes right?
