ohhh well if it's not a wild bird shouldn't you try and find it's owner?
I would only take in strays temporarily. for that reason, someone could be missing the guy! aw.
but good job on rescuing it.
... I wish strays came to our door, too, but somehow they never do D':
Once we took in a rabbit that we thought was dead, but then it twitched so we brought it home. But it died... :(
Aww, thats so sweet!
Back in Nov, I was coming home from work and pulled into my neighborhood, there was a tiny kitten sitting on the sidewalk. It was below freezing and I knew she must have been cold, so I pulled over and she came right to me and she was ice cold to the touch. She, I knew I couldn't leave her outside over night, so I brought her home with me and my mom would I would figure something out. So, I brought her inside, forgetting about my dogs. I dogs started barking, she freaked out and dug her claws right under my eye. I started screaming and my mom came running into the room, saw the cat on my face. I got the cat off my face and my eye was bleeding and I was screaming. My mom grabbed the cat and threw it back outside. I had a huge black eye because the cat scratched my eyeball. Two days later, my sister came over to pick something up at the house (she lives in an apartment with our other sister) and as she was going back to her car, she heard meowing. She looked around and up in our pear tree, there was the kitten. She called to it and it came down and it was still ice cold to the touch. She knocked on the door so the dogs wouldn't bark and when I opened the door, there was the cat that attacked my face. I got her a pillow case to put the cat in and we went back to her apartment and put her in the dog cage. My sister took her in and now she is the sweetest little cat ever. Her name is Bella and she is really, really hyper. But super sweet
Good luck finding the poor little guy's old owner, but if you can't find them at least he has a new home.
There was a cockatoo loose here in town one summer, and I live in central Ontario, so they are definitely not native and can't survive out in the wild here. The other kids in town and I tried a few times to catch it with several different traps and strategies, but no luck. Finally when the weather started turning colder they found him puffed up in the corner of one of the elementary school windows, too cold and weak to run or fly away. Good news was that they called the vet and got him warm and fed, so he spent the rest of his days in the vet clinic as a greeter...although he had a pretty foul mouth on him :P
We have a baby turtle named Stewie long story how we got that name though LOLZ
Ah wow, is he tame? Like, does he act like he's been hand-reared?
Damn, there's flocks of ring-necked parakeets near where I live (escaped pets bred in the wild lol), so I couldn't go taking them in.
But I did find a cockatiel outside. We took him in - he was so hungry he just jumped in a box with millet. Poor little guy was freezing, lol. But he's joined my two other cockatiels - he's not tame though, so he must've either been bought at a pet shop or escaped from an aviary. We put up loads of posters about the place, but no one claimed him.

well, it's a lucky bird whether you find its owner or not :)
Cats seem to swarm our house (not complaining haha) but unfortunately they're all neighbours' pets and they would get super pissed off if one moved in with us.
My cat was the neighbour's during his first what, four years, then single-handedly decided he wanted to live with us (he was an outdoor cat so hard to control). The neighbour had like seven cats already so they gave him up and he ended up living a long and happy life here :D it was awkward for my parents to begin with though when he got in and sat in the window facing the road in plain view for the neighbour.
They were good about it though. You really have very little say in a cat's choice.
THEY CAN'T BREAK YOU IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SPINE
We thought the kitten belong to one of our neighbors, but it was way too young to be on its own outside, esp in below freezing temperatures. Yeah, she has that nice coat, but she was still really cold. She was only about 6 or 7 weeks old when we found her. And after we took her in, we were keeping an eye out for lost cat signs and never saw one.
