Okay, so I use .net for Subeta. But my sis uses .ws.

Are we supposed to use just one?

Seen as both .net and .ws are safe, it's okay to use both. :) However, from what I've gathered, the staff is a bit more inclined to .net, hence why most news posts with links lead to .net.

The last "official" announcement was to use ws until further notice. I guess, this has out-lived itself :-)
