I don't usually do this sort of thing. I feel such a selfish loser asking this. Well here goes. ._. So, Since I dunno march I guess my friend has been busy and doesnt get online much now on neopets. He's one of my best friends and I've known him over two years now. I was thinking I should try ask him about starting to talk on the phone. But I honestly don't want my parents to know about him (long story). If I told my parents they'd get extremely protective, and I mean like possibly internet taken away if they don't like him.

I'm wondering if I should try to do this or not. Trying to keep it a secret will not work they will find out soon later (roughly within two-three days).

Or should I just wait until I turn 18 so they can't do anything about it? But for some reason I have a feeling by then he'll be so busy he won't have time to talk with me.

It'd be great to get a reply before Saturday. Smail for suggestions is fine. ^^

My email has parental controls all over it. I'm surprise I'm still able to talk to my friends through it. And I don't have a cell phone, even if I did they wouldnt let me text.

I have, thats what happened to it. I'd rather not make more only to have it unable to acess anymore or surround with parental controls. My parents are just crazy like that. They havent trusted me once at all.

I've talk on the phone before with some of my other friends online. Most of them I had known for about a year before I did that. However, I honestly had no reason to think about doing this up until last week.

It may not be that your parents don't trust you, but that you really don't know who's on the other end of the computer no matter how much you've talked. You might want to consider telling your parents that you would like to call this person. That you want to have them involved to see that he is who he says he is by them calling his parents first. If the parents get to know each other they'll feel much better about the two of you talking on the phone.

I think I figured they've been trying to protect me when they made me watch talk shows about myspace for a year because I went to gaia online without permission. xD
