ok i need help from fellow zune people out there. i got my 80G zune for my birthday last year...and for a long time is was really great. A few months ago, it froze for the first time. Which was weird, but I reset it and it was fine. Ever since then it would freeze randomly, more and more, but the reset option always would fix it.
Three weeks ago, ish, I lost my Zune charging cord and it died. I was short on money, so I left it dead for a while, until I could afford a new charger. Last night, I went out and bought the exact same charger that it came with. I went to charge and and sleep (since I always do that). I woke up this morning to find it frozen on the "connected" screen. There was an error code on the Zune program that I forgot to write down, since I was in a hurry. I brought it with me to school, and for a good twenty minutes I tried to reset the thing...with no luck. It was just frozen on that screen. No button would work, nor would the reset option work. Finally it went to this all black screen and still refused to start up. Around 40 minutes of playing with it (i had a work period today :P) i managed to get it back on the main screen...to see that only FIVE songs are there. Five totally random songs...out of hundreds. Now, it freezes every minute. Nothing will work. The Zune program refuses to work for me...I can't even log into the Zune website (something about confirming my account...that I've done a few times with no success).
Anyone know what the hell I should do? 0_0 I'm getting right pissed off with it.
I got your back Jack, bitches be crazy.
From zune.net:
For the restarting:
I can't find anything about the missing music =/
I absolutely LOVE my zune - your situation sounds like the headache I got with my crappy 60gb ipod.
Sounds like a pain in the butt. Worst possible case take it to the nearest best buy and ask them to fix it.
I'm currently trying to wipe out my zune as we speak. i deleted the program from my computer, now i'm trying to wipe the zune.
I got your back Jack, bitches be crazy.
Not everyone can afford or even wants an iPod.
I'm not an iPod humper, but I do love mine very much.
Well, continue wiping out your Zune, and if that doesn't work, then I suggest you call the company and try to have them help you.
god... that was HILARIOUS!!!
i have nothing to really offer on the subject. i came to view the problem/solution because i am searching for a player for a gift and find electronic issues of interest.
i certainly hope you get it sorted.

Hey, I do NOT hump my iPod! I make love to it, but never hump ;D. But really, I've never seemed to have problems with my iTouch. But I guess it wouldn't be a very good solution if you don't have the money for one... :|

Talk to Tech Support, Google it, and if you still can't find out what's wrong with it, take it to wherever you bought it. Best Buy, Wally World, whatever.
In the end, it may - not necessarily will - but MAY cost more money to fix it and buy a new Zune than to buy a different mp3 player. Not necessarily an iPod, though that's what I would advise.
And please, don't refer to me as an iPod humper. My boyfriend has a Zune and I often rape that more often than my iPod. -.-
That same thing happened to me; I had to call Zune Support and they had to send me a box so I could send it back. It was free, by the way.
Partially my fault, hooking it up to some wonky speakers, I suppose.
Definitely contact Microsoft since this problem was consistent and you've tried to reset it. I'd suggest to try plugging it and seeing it if was a problem with you disconnecting it from the charger. I use an iPod, and the time my friend's older one froze, it was because she had disconnected it improperly.
If there's still a problem and Microsoft refuses to do anything for some reason, I'd suggest trying your luck with a new Zune, or if you're tired of the headache, buy a new MP3 player. (Not even ganna lie, Walkman MP3 players make my heart thump-- and I use an iPod, lol.) in case you're looking into other ones, or even other suggestions on how to fix the problem
best of luck!
