I know, I know, another thread about the comatose lizards, but I haven't seen anyone ask the question that I'm about to ask (or maybe they did and I missed it? If so, I'm sorry <3 )

Ok, so in the past, before the comatose lizard achievement came out, I had caught one from a lizard event. Will I get the achievement next time I get a lizard event even if I don't catch one again? Much like how if you RS an item, you get the RS achievement(s). Or must I put my spray away and hope that I get lucky?
