... of having two domains. Really the only purpose I can surmise is to annoy users having to switch between the two when people post links.
haha in all seriousness, idk, maybe it's for security purposes, but I actually find it reaaaaally irritating. :( is it possible anytime in the near future to switch to just one domain as opposed to two?

i think keith bought one awhile back and it hasnt run out yet, but we aren't going to have .ws forever? i heard that somewhere

ws was created after org was stolen. Keith hates ws, so he then made net.
It was stated in the news at one point or another that net is the more official domain, hence why everything in the news is linked to net rather than ws.
are we eventually going to get rid of .ws?

oh okay, maybe he'll see this and shed a bit of light on the topic :P

if .net worked perfectly 100% of the time, i'd happily use it 100% of the time. a lot of the time, however, .net will stop loading things for me and at that point i switch to .ws. once .ws starts doing the same thing, i go back to .net. i really like having the choice and it's really not hard to change ".ws" in the url bar to ".net" if someone links you using it. i mean, honestly, if that's too much effort for someone they should probably just quit playing.
It's not so much the effort as the principle. I just don't think I should have to switch, you know? /: If I really have to I will, of course, change .ws to .net, but generally speaking I try to avoid it. It's just a really annoying extra.
Also, if .net isn't working for me, .ws isn't. I've never had that problem.

...If the HAs won't load I just close the window and restart firefox. Then they load.
I have issues with .net being a lot more laggy than .ws--maybe because there are more people on .net. I'm not the only one who experiences that, either. So.. I stay logged in on both .ws and .net and I don't even notice when I hop back and forth between them until the site gets laggy or won't load at all(at which point I'm almost always on .net) and then I go back to .ws until .net works again.
that, to me, seems like a bigger hassle than just switching over to .ws, especially considering i usually have like 40 tabs open plus i have to re-login to a ton of sites when i do that.
i use .net and it's really really really annoying when someone links something on their profile to .ws i automatically close the tab and usually never return to that profile again
:s I don't mind either, to be honest. I've had issues before where .net would just stop loading for me altogether. It wasn't my connection that was causing it since everything else (including .ws) loaded fine. So I'd just log into .ws and use it until .net worked again.
I can see how it's annoying when it comes to links, though. :/ With some, you can remove the 'www.subeta.net(ws)' bit in the link tag to get them to work equally for both sites, but others don't work that way, so it's a pain in the ass to get a double-functioning link up for one's trades on your profile or an advertising post, for example.
I just stay logged into both domains so I never really have any issues with it.
I never noticed that .ws worked when .net doesn't sometimes as I never tried. I'd just grumble and go mess around on a different site for awhile :P
Though you are right, it does seem odd that we have to domains. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just maintain one? Or is it only a one time fee to create a domain? Not sure really how they work.

The new firefox has a 'SAVE YOUR TABS FOR NEXT TIME?' option when you close it. So...? :S But like I said, I have never had a problem with .ws working when .net isn't. If one isn't working for me, the other isn't, so maybe it's your computer? idk

But if you hate .ws so much, you've probably never tried loading .ws when .net stopped working for you. There are too many of us for it to just be our computers.
I've never used .ws even when .net gets laggy. at that point I just take a break from subeta. :|
it's extremely annoying when people link things to .ws because... well, don't they know most everybody uses .net? fine, us .ws. but why do you force it upon me? =_= (in before it's not that hard to change .ws to .net. I KNOW) so I agree with you, nine. it's the principle of the thing.
Actually, I have? I wouldn't say it didn't work if I hadn't tried it.
