Erm.. yes.. So lately and I have been ADDICTED to Korean dramas and movies (even though neither of us are Korean or understand Korean...).. So we've been relying on the nice English subtitles :p
ANYWAYS. Last night, we finished watching BOYS BEFORE FLOWERS, and it's quite frankly one of the BEST things I have EVER seen.. IN MY LIFE O-O; I'm going to watch it over :s
If you like Edward Cullen.. I swear.. the guys in this drama make him look like an asshat - Some of the characters, set the bar for 'dream man' SO HIGH, any guy who tried to surpass it would just hit his head on the bar :p
ANYWAYS. Just watch it: http://www.mysoju.com/boys-before-flowers/ ^ Even if you just watch Episode 1... It'll be enough to keep watching xD AND, I promise EVERY episode will be good :D
Remember in January when I wanted to talk about Slumdog Millionaire, and everyone ignored me.. but then when they FINALLY saw it 3 months later, they liked it? Well this is like that, ONLY an infinity times better c:

TRUFAX LIN
Srsly, I never saw myself watching Korean dramas xD Lawl
But this was so good, like every minute ;-; I'm sad it's over, but satisfied at the outcome xD
So listen to Lin, watch and prepare to be blown away by awesomesauce 8D
shakes fist at joo before, I barely had a life, now I have no life at all.
DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW. IT WILL SUCK THE SOUL FROM YOUR BONES.
-goes back to watching it- :3
P.S. Curley = MINE. MINE I TELL YOU. foams at mouth
^ There's a Japanese as well as a Taiwanese version (Meteor Garden) o: I'm rewatching the korean version as we speak.. But maybe I'll check out the Japanese version, since the other versions are originally based off a Japanese comic I think p:
Image (c) Levis
XD He's the main male lead :p Cath and I dubbed him curly.. seeing as we had issues remembering their real names 8D

Idol dramas for the win.. I've only seen the taiwanese version and I didn't like Meteor garden when I saw it. It wasn't because of the guys.. I just thought F4's acting was bad. XD
i didn't actually know that there was a korean version of boys before flowers. I'll check it out at some point probably.. I've been obsessed over taiwanese idol dramas recently... and there's plenty of bishies in those.
Merc, I think the Taiwanese version had the -ugliest- cast :s Cath and I checked out the Japanese version and the guys are only so-so compared to the Korean cast p: IMHO, the cast in Boys Before Flowers was AMAZING p: The acting was great p: F4 in this version was really good p: Everyone served a purpose :D And the guys who played Ginger (Yi Hoo, AKA Rui in the Japanese version) and Curly (Gu Jun Pyo) were amazing p:

hottest asian guy hands down are danson tang and mike he.. mike he is so hot, but I digress. XD
but yeah... I learned of F4 as a taiwanese music group first before i knew that their name was actually from the manga boys before flowers. They were so popular in china and taiwan for a while.. I remember seeing their pictures everywhere.. I used to adore F4 though, but really only as a music group.. the them in the show just never did it for me.
But I will eventually check it out.. the korean guys are hotter, but I admit I've always liked vaness :o
I'm quite fond of some Japanese hotties like Mizushima Hiro and Okada Masaki, since I've only finished three dramas and they've all been Japanese :P
I found out about the manga version before I even knew there was a drama of Boys over Flowers. And even then it took me ages to figure out there was also a Taiwanese one.
I was looking for people who are interested in Boys over Flowers! Finally, I found this topic!
-to help out with your issues remembering their names, I have em' here MAIN CAST names: Yun Ji Hoo- Kim Hyun Joong Geum Jan Di- Gu Hye Sun Gu Jun Pyo- Lee Min Ho (curly!) So Yi Jung- Kim Beum Sung Woo Bin- Kim Hyung Joon
Truly, one of the best I've ever watched.
^ XD I actually knew their names by the second time I watched it xD But initially, we had to give them names we could remember ;)
Yun Ji Hoo- Kim Hyun Joong - Ginger Geum Jan Di- Gu Hye Sun - Grass Patch Gu Jun Pyo- Lee Min Ho (curly!) - Curly So Yi Jung- Kim Beum - Playboy Sung Woo Bin- Kim Hyung Joon - Casanova
xD We also named the extended cast :p The girl who played Curly's fiance, we dubbed ''Kung Fu' His mom, we called ''Evil W(B)itch'' The girl who played Ginger's first girlfriend = ''Model'' The girl who played Grass Patch's best friend, we called her ''Porridge Girl'' The girl who played Playboy's first girlfriend, we called her ''Pottery Girl'' The girl who played Curly's sister we called her ''Noona''
I think the -only- person who we called by their actual name, was Haje XD

Did you know that Min Ho(Curly) actually saved Hye Sun(Grass Patch) in real life? Ginger is the total opposite of his own character since he's the funny and loud type of guy. One of he three self-proclaimed "Shinhwa Beauties" (Sunny) commited suicide. And Grass Patch is actually older than Curly and Ginger. Casanova is a part of a 3 boy group named T-Max and Ginger is on SS501. Grass Patch wrote a bestselling novel "Tango," she directed a short film and had a wonderful voice. Very talented!
I checked out the first episode of the Japanese and Taiwanese version, and I still prefer the Korean version. I thought the directing was much better in the Korean version, and there was more background information p: I also preferred the acting in this version xD
Also, I'm not sure if I like every Asian drama :s BBF (kor. ver) is by far the best drama I've seen thus far :s I'm honestly trying to find another drama that will keep my attention.. but no dice XD
I also knew that grass patch (1984) was older than curly (1987) and ginger (1986). She doesn't look too old though, but they all looked older than the average high school student XD
And yes, we did know Ginger was the leader in SS501 p:

I haven't seen this version but I saw Hani Yori Dango (the japanese version) and LOVED it so so much. I'll probably watch this one at some point.
^ I've watched both the Korean and Japanese versions now.
IMHO, I thought the sequence of events, and the conclusion in the Japanese version was better. However, I thought the Korean version was funnier, the actors gave a better performance overall, and the choices in setting were better in BBF as compared to HYD :D
