So recently, I've been seeing things. Like, I imagine in my peripheral vision I see a spider crawl really fast across my floor, (It's a cream carpet, so really, kinda hard to mistake,) but when I look over, there's nothing there. I've seen them on my walls, too.

Of course, I've had actual spiders crawl across my floor like that, not too long ago. Is my subconscious mind just worrying me, causing me to see things?

It's not just spiders, either. Sometimes, I'll be sat downstairs in my living room, in the arm chair, directly parallel to the door.

I'll be sat in the chair, and out of the corner of my eye, I'll see an orange shape around the size of a cat crawl across the floor. I don't own any cats. I used to, but not anymore. I've also seen things out the corner of my eye like faces and shapes in doorways.

Now obviously, I don't want to tell my parents about this, they already think I'm becoming a hypochondriac. My vision is perfect, and I've never had any health problems before. I sleep well, I'm not particularly tired often. I'm not stressed, and although my diet could be a little better, (less junk food. ^^; ) I'm not starving or anything like that.

Is there something wrong with me, or is this just an over-active imagination?

Might be your imagination... Might be something else.

I see moving shadows. Giant shadowy hands invading my privacy and such(Get out of my bathroom please xD). I could be crazy like I yell to the world or I could be seeing stuff that is there.

So yeah my best guess is that your being overly paranoid about it, but you might just be seeing what is there.

I sometimes see things in the corner of my eye, but I am pretty sure it's just my imagination. It doesn't worry me, keeps life exciting.

But if you have troubles with it and are afraid it's a medical issue, talk to a doctor? :)

definitely an over-active imagination. of course you can easily test the theory by trying really hard to distract yourself for a while and see how often you hallucinate in, say, a month or two.

i'm not saying there isn't something chemically and electrically going on in your eye and whatnot -- but associating those reactions to something actually there is entirely different.

Depends. How often do you see them? Hallucinations can be independent from other health issues. I hallucinate a bit, and my mom won't take me to see a counselor or anything, but I function fine so I guess it isn't too much of a problem. It probably isn't all that bad, your hallucinations aren't nearly as bad as mine.

I hallucinate like that and I'm schizophrenic. It may not be the same for you, though. Just saying.

Do you get enough sleep? If not, that could definitely be what's causing you to hallucinate. It's pretty normal. If it persists and really starts to scare you, maybe try talking to someone you really know and trust?

[edit]

Oh, and ignore the sleep thing. I missed that.

But maybe you are nervous about something subconsciously? I wouldn't know but, again, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The more you think about it, the worse it gets.

It may just be that you haven't been getting enough sleep. That happens to me when I haven't had enough sleep. Try getting to bed a little earlier and if that doesn't work I would see and eye doctor.

Oh, it doesn't bother me that much, it's just annoying when I think "OHSHITSPIDER!" and lunge for my hockey stick, (Yes, I beat spiders to death with a hockey stick.) only to find there's nothing there.

All things taken into consideration, It's probably nothing. If it persists, I'll probably go see a doctor. But it doesn't seem too bad at the moment, so I don't mind.

that somewhat happened to me a few weeks ago at my old house. we moved recently and had to get some work done on our bathroom. since my bedroom was right beside the bathroom, there was a huge hole in my wall for about a week and once i saw this HUGE centipede and i after that, i kept seeing it out of the corner of my eye moving abnormally fast and it obviously wasn't actually there. it's stopped since we moved though.

I'd say that you really are seeing things that actually exist, but that's just my opinion. I'm a strong believer in the paranormal, and I know that sometimes seeing something out of the corner of your eye can turn out to be more than just that.

My best advice to you would be to talk to someone about it, in person. Tell a friend, tell someone. If you have a good friend you can hang with, tell them about it then have them spend the night at your place, see if they see the same things you do. If not, then perhaps you do just have an over active imagination.

This worked well for a friend of mine who was having some troubles, she was hearing noises in the night that her mother did not hear because her mother is a heavy sleeper. She told me about the noises and what they sounded like, then asked me to come over and spend the night at her place.

The first thump that happened we looked at one another and realized we'd both heard the same thing, so it wasn't just her mind playing tricks on her or an over-active imagination like she was thinking.

It might be worth a try, at the very least, to do this method if possible. I wish you luck in solving this problem.

Wow, that post actually scared me a bit and made me turn around to scan my room, as I have the same problem. I look at my computer screen and see black human sized shapes in the corner of my left eye. I also have a feeling someone is looking at me sometimes, then I turn around and briefly see a light (and I always think it's a face) and then it fades.

I had problems with my vision about 8 years ago, but my eyes are okay now. I know that -I'm- paranoid, but. Things like this have been happening to my family aswell.

Maybe you should tell someone anyway, I mean, it's no big deal. They might even tell you they saw something, too?

Imagination. I have a similar problem. Once there was a rubber ball in the crack of a door. and When I went to shut it, it would close. I opened it, and no one was there. I immediatly thought it was a ghost or something and ran to my dad. He then showed me the ball XD A huge fail moment for me, but now I don't get so freaked out.

We're all stories in the end.

Spiders probably aren't anything to worry about, I've seen them out of the corner of my eyes all the time. It's a fairly normal occurrence here, since we have a large garden in our backyard, with lots of spiders.

When exactly is this happening to you? If it's occurring at night, it could be some sort of sleep related issue. Anxiety is another possible cause, even if you don't have a lot of stress in your life. Some people are just more prone to anxiety related issues, & your imagination can definitely play into how you perceive things.

Try seeing a doctor, they can figure out what is causing them and cure them. They're wonderful. O:
