I can't think why they assume that these animals are tame even when they are contained in a zoo and cage. They are still primitive, predatory creatures. So I can't blame the polar bear wanting to eat that fleshy woman.

That's the point. She thought Knut was still the lovely little cuddle bear he was two years ago. If you know Knut you know what I'm talking about. She just thought she could go in and he would be like he was when he was a baby... I feel sorry for her being so naive.
