so i was at my boyfriend's house and he had to drive me home. i had to be home by 9:45 which is fine with me because i have to get up at 6:45 every morning to go running with my cross country team. but my mom has this rule that if i'm not home on the dot i get in trouble.

that's reasonable and i'm not here to complain, but we pulled up to my house at exactly 9:45 (or so my boyfriend's clock said) and i go inside and i'm all, ''did i make it mom?! :D'' and she looks all mad and is like, ''no, you're two minutes late.''

i was like D:. his clock said 9:45 and i told her that and she was like, ''WELL THAT'S NOT WHAT OUR'S SAID.'' so then i got yelled at but i'm not grounded luckily. ugh.

has this ever happened to you?

That sucks. :c

All the clocks in my house are fucked up. The one downstairs is like 20 minutes behind, the computer clocks are the normal time, and the alarm clocks are either a few minutes behind or ahead. :[

i just don't think it's fair when his clock is two fucking minutes ''slower'' than the ones in the house. it makes me think that i'm on time when i'm apparently not. :( fml.

Story of my life. ):

My curfew is 11 and my boyfriend would always insist on leaving his house at 11, so we'd get to mine at like... 11:05. So I guess my parents had a right to get angry with me just... I don't see why they would make such a SUPERhuge deal about it.

Like if I wanted to do something 'bad' or 'inappropriate' or whatever I would have had plenty of opportunities to do so before 11. 5 minutes won't make a huge difference.

lulz, so much, especially when I was in highschool and before. Our car is 15 minutes late...our two clocks are 15 minutes late. The clock on the TV displays the actual time. Ah, yes, many wars have been waged because I was "15 minutes late" for something. <3

my parents are actually pretty large about curfews. i don't think i have one, to be quite frank. i'll be at a friend's and my dad'll call, asking me when i'll be home and i'll just tell him "around eleven or so". so when it's finally time to leave, it's usually 11:20 - at least - and i'll be home around 11:25-11:35 ish, and they don't care... if they call, i just tell them we're watching a movie and it's done in thirty minutes.

yeah..

My dad has no set time for me to be home. When I ask he shrugs and says be home by whatever time you feel like.

Mostly I am at the barn hanging out but i always get home early. Prolly why he trusts me.

YES D=

All of the clocks I've seen are different. Except my laptop and cell phone because they're automatically set and whatnot.

If they want me home at a certain time, I have to go by their clock instead of my cell phone =(

Back when I was 16 I was 7 minutes late getting back from watching a movie. I had to be home at 10 (I hated being 16) and at 10:02 my mom started calling the person I was with, even though I was on my way home. I got home and my mom proceeded to bitch me out for no reason. That weekend I had to spend the entire time pulling up weeds, raking the backyard, and cleaning the house. When I was about 3 months away from being 18, I was caught out at 1:30 by a sheriff (my home city enforces curfew...), and had to call my mom. She was quite pissed, though she had a little bit of reason to be: it was a Thursday night. But all I really got from that was a scolding. After Senior year, though (and a little bit during the end of it), my mother FINALLY backed off after I gave her one of those "I'm going away" talks, and I was able to say "Eh, I don't know when I'll be home" and show up at 2 or 3 and she wouldn't care. It's nice when parents finally back off.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the clocks being different, but I tried pulling that excuse once and my parents wouldn't have it; they kept saying that I KNEW what the times were set to in our house.
