Can anyone tell me what kind it is?
O_o
OH YEAH. It would help if I told you this...
I live in the state of Georgia, in the us. It's in the South East, just above florida. It was found in a wooded area, and is a bit under three feet long.
My brother has had him for a while, and he's quite friendly. =3 He also has no qualms about being a cannibal. O_O
His head is about the size of the end of my thumb (from last knuckle to the tip).
I have more pictures, if that would help.
We THINK he's a Black Rat Snake, but I wanted to check with others.
Maybe it's just me, but that photo isn't loading at all.
What the gravyboat?! It was workin a second ago! :O Hang on, I'll link to my photobucket instead.
There. Updated the link.
Here it is again.
Hmm, I've never actually seen a rat snake until now. even though I had lived in GA for several years /fail
Anyway, I ran off to get my snake book and he looks like a black rat snake to me. Do you know if its a he or she? Or is it just habit to call it a he?
Lol, just a habit. I hadn't actually looked up how to sex it. Something about the tail, I know.
Pretty quickly narrows and turns into actual tail instead of body, you can definitely see the difference in the two body sections. I dunno what that means. xD
Add on:
Ah, just looked. Eets a boy. =3
Yeah, however, unless you have 2 snakes side by side, it's often hard to tell.
A more accurate method is probing, and that's a pain in the ass... Literally and figuratively. XD Popping is another method, but that method freaks me out. o.O
Ehh, I know snakes pretty well. There's a very definite distinction between the body section, and the tail itself. It very quickly narrows and goes into the tail.
I'm just more familiar with northern snakes, not southern ones. I'm just glad to know it's not poisonous. :P
