You could always talk to him. Or go for a drive maybe?
It's nice what you're doing though; I've been at places like that where I've had to stay the night and I started bawling because I was so uncomfortable being there. :(
As far as recipes go, I could recommend some depending on what you and your grandpa like. ;)
Yep. For my grandfather. His memory is going and every Friday my mom and I go up and clean the downstairs (which REALLY needs it) and occasionally the upstairs. I can't tell you how many times I've almost puked because of the smell. He has cat food down the drain for WEEKS, which made it smell like sewage caca, until I poured some bleach down there and then some baking soda. And the bathroom? IT'S EVERYWHERE, MAN.
But I care for my grandfather and I want to help him. He's lonely, forgetful, and he's been falling down more recently. So I think that if I spend a month at his house, cleaning and cooking and spending time with him, it will help him. Plus, it will be a nice little vacation from my parents. :P
What do you think about this? A good thing? Anything I should do extra for him (he can't really walk, so taking a walk together is out of the question), or any recipes or hobbies that I can do with him? All he does is just sit on the couch, all day, and watch T.V.

Aww, that's so nice of you :)
I wouldn't do it, probably, because all my grandparents live across the country from me, but go for it! It's nice that you're caring for him so much. I would do something yummy for the cooking, not microwaved or anything, since he probably can't do that much cooking if he can't walk. Or birdwatching from the window, or something. Or is that more of a grandma thing?
That's nice of you to do that, though, and I'll sure he'll appreciate whatever you do.
