The stylized-ness is pretty freaking cool, but I hope a better scan was put in the magazine!

Hm It kind of bugs me that I still see some pencil marks from your sketch D:

What seems to be missing for me is all the white space. Uhh I can't be sure that you know of positive and negative space, but thats what im refering to. Shading the hands or the background would give the piece a different feel, and look more complete.
