Hey guys. SO as a lot of you probably know, Conan O'Brien took over the Tonight Show and I was just wondering if anyone has been watching and what you might think of the show so far?
And also, between them, who do you prefer?
Personally, I really love Conan, and think he's hilarious. Some of his improvisation brings me to tears. I never really took a liking to Jay but then again - I never really got into his talk show either.
OR - if you don't like either of them, do you prefer David Letterman or Jimmy Fallon or someone else? Just curious.
Sorry if there's been a topic about this, I didn't see one and looked through the few pages. I might be wrong though. Ciao!
I prefer Jay for sure, and the based on the ratings Conan's been getting lately I'm not alone.
I'm not too big on late night comedy but I always tuned in for Headlines when Jay was still around. Funny stuff.
I've never really watched too much of Conan but from what I've seen he's not too bad. Just not something I'd tune in to watch every single night.
I think out of all the US late night talk shows, only Letterman reaches us soon after being broadcast :/ Never really found his style of humour funny - not sure if it's just me or if it's a culture thing?
Conan's a little hit and miss for me - there are some really hilarious moments out there though.
Recently I've discovered Craig Ferguson. Definitely my fav of the late night show hosts. Not sure whether it's the kind of 'foreigner' perspective he has that I'm relating to better, or that he just seems to improvise everything, but he gets the most laughs out of me :D I love how off the cuff his interviews are as well - the topics they manage to stray into truly astound.
Also worth mentioning - Australian Rove McManus. Don't think he's as well known overseas, but he is a riot. So funny, and comes across as a genuinely nice guy. Either Rove or Craig get my vote!
