im going to camp friday, and it's 5 days overnight church camp. but what sucks is... IM GOING TO BE ON MY PERIOD AT CAMP. :( mine last up to 8 days sometimes, and they are extremely heavy. i don't wear tampons cuz it still leaks through & my mom won't let me use birth control. :'( but...imma try to make the best of it and not be a baby even though i kinda already am :) sooo... -how heavy are your periods, and how long do they last?

Heavy D: Like 5-8 days. That's one of the reasons I use birth control pills. Not just for the baby issue but also to get my period later on so I don't have it when I go on vacation or camp. D:

And, I don't know how it's in your country, but in mine I can get birth control without permission of my mother. Even though she gave me permission, I could have gone to the doctors and got the prescription myself.

I'm not telling you to do that, you should try and reason with your mom first.

One of my very last periods was so bad, I seriously thought I was having a miscarriage =/ I had to change my pad every five to ten minutes, and the pain was so unbearable, I stayed up all night and cried.

I'm on the depo shot now, and I don't get it anymore, which makes me incredibly happy =)

I went on a cruise and mine started 2 weeks early for no reason. And exactly on the days we would be going swimming in the dead sea. For those who don't know, the dead sea is VERY salty. Salt on wounds is bad enough.

In short. I was convinced to swim. Stood in it. And ended up in agony and cried alot. :|

i haven't had a period in one year, and four months. Permanent birth control. :P

They used to be so bad I couldn't even breathe, walk, go anywhere, do anything except cry. xD

Mine are really, really horrible the first two days. I wear a tampon and a pantyliner on those days so that if I leak, I'm covered. Maybe try that - and if your leaks are really heavy, a pad instead of a liner. That's all that works for me. =/

Mine last 7 days, always, and are horribly painful and heavy the first two days, heavy but less painful until day 5, and then they taper off until day 7 when they go away.

8 days. The first 2 days are bad ,but the remaining days are very light

I haven't had my period in two years =O Probably some sort of hormonal imbalance that, left unchecked, could wreak havoc on my reproductive system eventually. :(

I don't really get mine anymore... I started a couple years ago but it only happens like, once or twice a year :P Which I suppose rocks, but when I do get my period it's really bad... I pretty much gush blood for three days and then it tapers off, and the pain is so bad I can barely walk, so in school I'll just walk down the hall kinda half doubled-over... it's funny though XD Except when I bleed through my pants in a class where I can't leave to go to the bathroom O_o;

Heavy for 2 or three days and then light the rest of the 5 days

I have never been camping but I always tend to get my periods when I'm on vacation too. It sucks so bad. Mine last about 10 days and are heavy for the first five and then it becomes less severe for the next five days. I tried birth control for mine too but instead of getting rid of my periods, it made me have a continuous one. A very heavy continuous one. That was back in January and it's now messed up my cycle. Joy.
