My sister went away for summer camp for about a week on Sunday, and my mom calls her about every other night to make sure she's okay because she's kind of shy and doesn't really know what to do in weird situations.

She's 13 and she has a friend with her, but the friend is a space-cadet, she really doesn't know what's going on. The problem is, there's 19 guys and only four girls (two of said girls haven't even hit puberty yet). So, basically, there's a guy there who's about my age (16) and another guy who's a year or so younger (let's say 14 or 15).

Well, two of them came to the door of my sister and her friend's room (it's on a college campus so they have one of the Sorority houses set up for the living quarters and the guys and girls are mixed in the halls-it's still girl with girl, though) and asked "Who wants to sleep with me tonight?"

Now, normally-if this was me- I wouldn't have a problem with it because I can tell when people are kidding, but when my 13 year old sister starts crying over the phone because it intimidated her, that's when I draw the line. I don't know if these guys were kidding or not, I just don't know what to tell her to make her feel safer. I've already said talk to the counselor if it makes her that uncomfortable, and it sounds like things are being done, but I'm worried it might happen again.

So, I guess what I'm asking is what should I do/say to her to make her feel better or to try to get rid of the problem all together?

i would be on the phone to the sorority house griping up a storm had it been me. there is no excuse for that. even if your sister didn't get upset about it, the whole incident is HIGHLY inappropriate. i would have already reported it to someone at the sorority -- and the school.

I agree with shatzy. Take it seriously at once, even if they meant it as a "harmless joke". I remember when I was 13 and some guys were yelling "want to suck my dick?" after us when leaving school. I was walking with some friends at the moment, but I would have been pretty upset and scared if I was alone.

Yeah, my mom called the director of the camp. It's been taken care of and it's going fine (from what I hear). So, it's all been taken care of really. :/ I was just worried at the moment because I didn't want to say something wrong and freak her out more. >> -has a habit of doing this by accident- Otherwise, the camp director (who's got quite the temper and does not tolerate nonsense. XD), talked to the boys and made it very clear that if they do something of that nature again-kidding or not-then they'll be sent home immediately with no questions asked. So, yeah, I think she feels better. =3 Which is good because that makes ME feel better. Thanks though, guys! =3 I appreciate the advice.

Just tell her that god put the male genitalia outside the body for a reason; and that's so she can forcefully apply her knee if she needs to lol He'll get the hint after that, but yeah... hope it doesn't get anywhere needing that though.

well i'm just glad it was corrected in a manner as NOT to single out your sister and give her more stress to deal with. i hope she is doing better... and i hope that this circumstance doesn't become problematic for her in the future with other fun things like another camp.
