I was at school, with one of my cellphones. (Yes, I use two. One is for my parents to call, a Nextel, and the other one is for everyone else. xD) So, I couldn't find it earlier today and I realized I had lost it. I called to my cellphone and it's actually on, but no one answers. Anyways, if I don't get it by tomorrow, I'll call the phone company and tell them to cancel the line.

This pisses me off because almost all of the private schools assume the fact that there are thieves, and pay for the thing you lost. Not in my school. I think there are only 3 or 4 like mine. I've lost 3 cellphones (counting this one) and 2 mp3. In 4 years.

Anything like this has happened to you?

Yup. I lost my old mp3 in my first middle school. The place is huge, so there was no use in even trying to look for it. All of the teachers even said, "when you lose something its gone for ever in this place." I also lost my last cell phone on a walk back from my current high school. That really pissed me off, because I said I wouldn't loose it, and there it went. Gone.

o.O Private schools pay for lost or stolen items? Holy crap I should've gone to a private school xD When I was at school, if we lost anything we were told it was our own fault for being careless and to piss off and stop bugging people lol

:( but yeah, I share your pain. I lost my phone once when I was drunk on a works night out. I left it in a taxi and when I called the company the next day they said that no drivers had reported any lost items in their cars at the end of the night :( So yeah, he probably kept it or sold it Pain in the behind like :( Lost so many numbers because of that and still haven't seen those people in order to tell them and get their numbers back :(

Don't worry ^^ I lost 14 cellphones and 3 mp3 players in about 6 years. Okay, one of the players was stolen Dx I lost one of my cellphones in school too, but luckyly I got it back a few days later Dx I was so happy since it was a 200 bucks phone. I really hope you'll get yours back!

I had my iPod stolen a few years back in a locker room, stuff like that always happens. Around the same time some girls had had money and other stuff stolen, and the only thing the school said was "oh, well you should have looked after it better." I don't expect them to pay for my iPod, but.. I dunno. It wasn't a good idea for us to have expensive stuff sitting in a locker room, but sometimes it's not convenient to put it elsewhere, and teachers won't always take the time to lock your stuff in their office.

People stole things at my private school, but our school had a policy that it wasn't their job to take care of stolen items.

We're all stories in the end.

I didn't have a cellphone in highschool. For good reason too. The school was full of thieves. I lost quite a few gameboys over the years.

I'd keep my personal belongings like that in a zipped up purse, and keep that on my person at all times.

I really dont remember having much stolen from me. Just 20$ from someone at work. They took it right out of my wallet in my purse in my locker. It's a shame when people resort to stealing... :c

aww, i'm sorry! losing things like that is horrible. :(

i'm very careful with my mp3 player when i'm at school; my binder comes with a pocket that cellphones, flash drives and stuff can fit in, so i usually put it in there. the staff always tells you to keep your things in your locker, but i feel safest when i actually have them on me.

one time last year my friends and i found an mp3 player in the field. my friend figured she'd keep it until the owner started looking for it (she's not the smartest person out there, i'm afraid), whoever they were. then some jackass came up to her and was like "THAT'S MINE! THAT'S MINE GIVE IT BACK NOW YOU JERK." so she gave it to him...and then he walked off laughing and we overheard him asking his friend "whose is this anyway?" i don't think the actual owner of that thing ever got it back. poor kid.

I can't exactly say I feel your pain, I've never gotten anything expensive like that stolen from me. Of course, I'm really paranoid over anything like my mp3, and I don't have a phone so... I keep my mp3 in my pocket all day, and my hand is almost always over my pocket.

I feel lucky, now. A boy who actually knows me found it in the locker room, and he knew it was mine because of my messages sent. So, he grabbed it and will give it to me tomorrow. ❤️

(I should have said that I am in Peru, and most of the good schools are private. National education sucks here, because the government doesn't want to give more money. :c)

... why are people bringing expensive gadgets to school? Are you going to be calling people during your classes or something? We only had 5 minute breaks in-between our classes where we would be rushing from one class to the next and a 30 minute lunch break where you would hang out with your friends. No one I knew had time to listen to their ipods or call people- as we were all pretty much right there in school. No one ever texted in class either.

I don't think kids should be bringing that stuff to school. You're there to learn, not fool around.

hope you find it, that's just unlucky

I've never had anything stolen, and if we lose anything at school we get the blame for being careless which is fair enough because nothing gets stolen, ever XD the few times things did go missing and they knew some one was taking them the school said if they weren't returned they'd get the police involved next day all the stolen items were found on top of a locker XD well apart from 2 or 3 ipods, they've never been found

i take my mp3 player to school with me because i listen to it on the bus (it's a very long ride...used to take almost an hour, now it's been cut down to 40 minutes or so). i don't trust the driver with my stuff because she drives for other schools and i'm afraid some jerk will see my mp3 player by her seat and swipe it when she's not looking. my gifted teacher also lets us listen to our mp3 players during silent work, as long as it helps us concentrate, so sometimes i pull it out then.

a lot of people just bring their cellphones for convenience. they might need it immediately after school, and can't stop at home to pick it up or something.

That's what I thought too. I didn't think people had the time during the school day to use these things. I can understand if you take the bus and want to listen to your music, thus your MP3 being at school, but...
