Alchemy Points are used to create Spells at the Secluded Shrine in the Sacred Land and teach them your Pets for battle. Your Pet gains 1 Alchemy Point each 16 Intelligence points if you are reading books. Though I'm not sure if you get them without reading books too.

After you have made the spell, you wont be able to read it to your pet, if your pet hasnt achieved some alchemy points.
