So I woke up yesterday with a gross, scratchy throat. In the past, that's always the sign I am getting a nasty cold. My mom just got over a bit of a cold a few days ago, so I thought I had it all figured out.

That is until I failed to fall asleep last night, developed chills so bad I practically was seizuring, and spent half the night in the bathroom. :( IT'S NOT A COLD, IT'S THE GOD DAMN FLU. WHICH I HAVE ONLY GOTTEN EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS STRAIGHT. Shit.

Tell me CC, have you ever been tricked by an illness? Anyone else feel particularly shitty right now, too?

The same thing happens a lot to me :x Also, usually when I have a throath that feels kinda slimey I'm getting a cold or a flu, no problem with that, I've been warned and I know it. But the last time I got an angina. I barked like a dog for 2 fucking weeks Dx It was so damn bad, I even lost my training because I got sick after 2 weeks and couldn't work in the kitchen because of it :/

Back in march-april i had a series of illnesses. I had Bronchitis for a week, which caused laryngitis. The flu came along with that, and the flu caused Pneumonia.

There was a week in between some of this, in which i was starting to feel better. Then suddenly one day i woke up feeling absolutely horrible. I had a high fever which i think made me hallucinate XD i had chills but i was hot, i wasn't hungry even though i knew i should have eaten, i was lightheaded whenever i got up, but i was so fatigued i couldn't move anyways. This was the beginning of the flu. D:

Yeah, I get tricked by illnesses that pretend to go away for a short while and then come back full swing like "LOL, ONLY JOKING".

I'm all right for now though. I've just recovered from swine flu, which took a while because I didn't take any of the tamiflu shit.

Lucky; before January 2007, I hadn't gotten the flu since I was a kid. :(

Lol, well at least I've never had that problem. :o Once mine is gone, it's gone. Takes a while, though.

I got tricked real bad last Christmas. I had a cold and my ear hurt a bit. So I stayed home and layed down on the couch watching tv all day.

And then BAMMM I suddenly had a VERY high fever, I fainted from the fever+dehydration and it turned out that I had a nasty ear infection. Was sick for 3 weeks, missed an exam and all the snow and ice outside :P

I hope your flu gets better soon :(

My daughter had Strep throat when she was 18 months old, and it turned into pneumonia. Until then, I didn't realize that was common. happened again when she was five. sigh

I got tricked by an illness, but it ended really well. :) I stayed home from school, and then about a half hour later I realized that it just morning stomach pain. So, I stayed home that day.

Nope, never got tricked by an illness, sometimes I even know what it is a day or two before I get symptoms, its kind of creepy actually. Maybe I should be a doctor. I think I'm just real sensitive and can feel illnesses in my body before I start showing credible symptoms.

I woke up with a gross throat one morning too, so I thought I was just gonna get a sore throat.

But it was the flu as well. The next morning I was throwing up, and unable to walk far.

Then next day, however, I was pretty much 90% better. When I get sick, my colds don&;t last as long as they did when I was younger.

Haha, woo! -highfive- ;)

I once had the flu for five days, got over it, was fine for five days, and then just when I was beginning to catch up on my school work, I caught scarlet fever and was sick for another five days.

Wow, that's weird. XD And unlucky. :(

This year I had some sort of cold, with just a sore throat. But then, I must have coughed on my hand and wiped my eye because I got pink eye simultainiously. AND because I was bad about taking the antibiotics, it came back >.<

Also, I had to sit three hours in the patient first, to go back to the room and sit for five minutes while the doctor looked at my throat and said "Yup, thats a viral sore throat, so I can give you anything for that, and thats definetley pink eye, so hears some eyedrops ^^."

Yup. About 10months ago. I thought I was going insane when I stopped sleeping and couldn't chill out, turns out my thyroid had sky rocketed. What a relief.
