GO AWAY. It always comes around summer break. and right when you need it to, it doesn't... go... away. So yes. I am extremely sleepy right now. I resemble the living dead. But can I sleep? No. And now it's too late to sleep, because I have to get up in less then an hour and go to summer school (not exactly school, I don't know what to call it : P) and then we go to lunch and then we go home and I have to stay up and clean. ...all I know is, insomnia is NOT going to bother me tonight. -___o
In case this happens again (which I am 99.99% positive it will) is there anyone with some advice on how to get rid of it? I've tried all the basic stuff... and I'm a little kid, so I probably can't take medicine... SO WHAT DO I DO? flail Thanks, friends : D... x_x
i have it every night. i go to sleep around 9 and around 4 am i wake up.
i woke up at 1 am, looked at my clock and went back to sleep.
at 4 am i woke up and then fell asleep.
it is exausting to wake up several times and to go back to sleep.
i have no idea what to do.
Working on filled wardrobe achievement. Almost at 12k!
I know your pain :x
I wouldn't consider it ''insomnia'' if you can't sleep for a day. We all go through that, not being able to sleep maybe 1 to 2 days during the week, or wake up several times a night. If it persists, if you can't sleep for more then 2 nights, then I would see your doctor.
Like someone said before, if it's only occasional, it's not insomnia. You didn't say you had a constant problem with this so it might not be. If you have a habit of going to bed late and all of a sudden you try to go to sleep 4 hours earlier it can sometimes cause problems I believe.
I have some sort of sleeping problem. I don't know if it's exactly insomnia though. I usually don't fall asleep until I've been lying in bed for an hour or two so I usually get to sleep around 1 or 2, sometimes 3. It's alright until school rolls around I have to get up at 6.
I take melatonin supplements to try to help. Perhaps I'm just nocturnal and going to bed at the wrong time. :P
rofl why do people always think that if they can't sleep ONE NIGHT they have god damn insomnia. insomnia is when you have like, a medical condition where you can't sleep. you're just having trouble sleeping which happens to everyone.
i would suggest doing something really boring like math problems. or just lay in bed and read/think because if you're laying in bed you're probably more likely to get sleepy than if you're sitting up playing subeta js.
Subeta gives me sleeplessness -.-;. I will be all "Oh, I will just check it real quick" then three hours later: still on. But a nice cd will put me right to sleep :). Good luck with yours!
Well, first of all, if you're laying in bed and you feel like you absolutely can't sleep, you should probably get out of bed and maybe sit in a chair you have in your bedroom or somewhere other than your bed. Laying in bed won't do anything for you, and could possibly be the problem. I read somewhere that sometimes people can't sleep because they loose the association that their bedroom has with sleep. It doesn't typically cause a problem, but it might be your case if you spend a lot of time in your room or play the computer or do other fun activities in there during the day.
Basically, the only thing I can tell you to do is sit in some sort of chair other than your bed (if you have one handy in your room). Make yourself comfortable and do something relaxing. Don't play your DS or the computer if you're going to play an action/adventure game. Maybe try reading or writing or drawing? Something quiet that doesn't require a lot of noise. Even listening to some quiet music can help. Watching TV in a dark/dim room on low sound also induces sleepiness.
You could drink some warm milk or some chamomile tea with honey while you do these activites or right before bed.
Once you feel tired, try getting back into bed. If you experience that sudden 'I'm not tired' rush, try taking deep breaths and exhaling slowly. It should help.
If all else fails, going a night or two without sleep won't kill ya. =3 Just don't take naps during the day no matter how tired you get. If you sleep a lot during the day then that might be messing up your sleep patterns, too.
Hope at least some of this helps! It helps me when I can't sleep, so maybe it'll be able to remedy your sleeping problems. ^^
I'm the same way as soon as summer starts.. If I do manage to fall asleep its at like 6 in the morning.. I'll be super tired but when I lay down I suddenly have a ton of energy and I feel like I can't breathe >.<. I sometimes take benadryl allergy because it puts me to sleep.. if you don't want to do that, try watching infomercials with all other lights off, while laying in bed. I also heard that ice cream can help you go to sleep.
Your not alone, I recently did really had a piano exam and I screwed up really bad. You know one of those moments where you just freeze in a critical situation? Well yea, I haven't been able to sleep let alone sleep well for a while. It'd be better if I got the marks back and knew if I actually failed or not, but they don't come for another month or so @
