So I just bought some hosting and with the intentions to add a php chat room for my subeta friends.
problem 1: So I was stupid and used this darn cPanel's Site Builder but it gives me no options to delete so now you go to subetachat.net and I can't delete the pages lol. How help?
Problem 2: I still can't figure out how to use the PHP chat rooms. I was able to install it before but after I installed it it didn't give me any options at all it was completely un set up. I mean people automatically joined the room when they went to the page but it made them guests with numbers at the end they weren't able to pick their username and I had no administration powers at all. How can I do this?
I want people to have to sign up and user their subeta usernames in the chat and I want to be able to pass moderation priviledges to certain people that I trust to keep the chat going smoothly.
If anyone has experience with this crap and can help me set this up (Only 2 pages btw just 1 page that explains the website like I already have it and then the second page where my chatroom is with a fully functioning chat) I could pay you in either cash, subeta points, or hugs lol.
Your CP won't let you delete pages? o_O ANY pages, or just the ones from the site builder? There definitely should be an option there somewhere. It might just not let you delete your index page since it's the homepage, but you should be able to upload a new one over it.
I have no clue about the PHP question because I don't know any PHP whatsoever. :( But is the chat room thing from a feature of your host, or did you make it from scratch?
It's from a feature of the host and I feel fairly certain that I am "allowed" to delete the page but I cannot find it. I've looked through all of my files and I can't see where the sitebuilder has placed it.
Does your host have online technical assistance? Those guys can probably help best with both of your questions. (Though on the host I had, the regular technical helpers were complete IDIOTS when it came to simple coding. :P -sigh-)
