So I have this problem where I click to purchase CSC and I get a double purchase.

It's happened on multiple occasions and I'm pretty well over it now.

Last night was the most recent:

I clicked to use my saved card to buy $25 worth of CSC - when it loaded the confirmation of charge page, it showed that my account would be credited the 3000 csc I purchased as soon as it was processed. I'm sorry, I clicked to purchase 2500, not 3000. Then, when the charge processed, it went through twice - so instead of $25 like I wanted, I was charged $60.

Submitting a ticket for this results in being told that I can be issued a refund, which takes 10 days at least to process (attempted this on a previous occasion). So in the meantime, if my account is overdrawn and I can't cover it, I lose at least the same amount in fees to the bank.

Luckily I can cover this right now and it's not the end of the world for me, but this is not the first, nor the second, nor even the fourth or fifth time this has happened. It happens off and on randomly.

So - can we please add an "Are you sure?" popup - I think that would go a long way to making sure it doesn't double charge us for things that we may not be able to afford.

- anyone else have this happen at least once?

[edit] Using Paypal and/or UGC you are prevented this issue because they have their own systems in place to confirm your purchase before you make it. Stripe/Saved Card is the only current option which does not, even though it is the most convenient option for people who have a stored card with the site.

It never happened to me up to now, but I don't use cards. I either use PayPal or UGC, and for both you have to put in your passwords and all such, so I guess it doesn't happen so easily? Sounds crappy though :(

It hasn't happened to me as I use PayPal for my CSC purchases. That would be totally aggravating to me too!

I've never had that happen, but I certainly don't see the harm in adding a confirmation. Something like "Are you sure? You will be charged (amount here)" maybe.

I dont use a saved card and normally use paypal, glad I do as I would hate that to happen, I know once I used stripe and didnt think it went through and went through it again turns out it went through both times. but the add of are you sure seems like a good idea

Yeah - I never had a problem with UGC or Paypal because they have their own confirmations to guarantee you're doing what you want, the saved card with Stripe is the only option that doesn't have some sort of method to prevent accidental transactions.

Thanks for chiming in - I'm going to go add that to the main post about the other two because I forgot haha.

Totally agreeing about that it shouldn't be the slightest problem to add a confirm pop-up. Wish you luck with the suggestion!

You're brave to have your card info on file. That would scare the poop outta me. I use paypal and Stripe. Stripe does require you to enter your card number each time, but it gives me some sense of security. I've not had a duplicate purchase problem with either method. That would really tick me off. 10 days?????????? WOW

I don't buy csc, but I'm... pretty surprised that there's NOT a confirmation. I really don't see the harm in one being added.

Yeah - I'm going to switch to paypal from now on unless they add in a pop-up. It should hopefully not be too complicated of a change to make and it would make me feel a lot more secure.

Thanks again for the support ❤️

I watch my bank account pretty good, but since I have a monthly subscription it's gotta stay on file =/ And yeah - that's usually standard for banks when you're getting a refund to a card. When I figured that out I was like - nope, my bank can cover it, there's not even a point in that. If I didn't have it it would be an entirely different story though - except I'd probably go through the bank to cancel the purchase and then file a ticket asking them to remove the unwanted csc.

I definitely support this, feels like a small trouble to go for a huge benefit for the users. I haven't had any issues myself, though... probably because, on the few occasions I've used stripe, I did not use a saved card (my card isn't saved!) :x That's definitely a huge downside to saving a card, such an irony for something that is supposed to be more convenient :/

I've never had an issue, but there's no reason there couldn't be a confirmation added just in case.

I don't know what's going on. I bought with Stripe once and got my credits fine.

I filed a ticket the last time it happened, and unfortunately the answer is that they can remove the extras and refund me - but the amount of time it takes for a refund to process basically negates any usefulness from it =/
