I was asked for it on a quest but every attempt I make to purchase it ends up with me getting 'Purchase Failed'

so I was wondering if this thing was glitched or if I'm just the amazing unlucky one who can't buy the thing...

Probably too late but the purchase went through for me so there you go. I believe there have been a few reports of the shop search glitching though, maybe check the Problems and Bugs forum?
