My dad noticed something was wrong when he was cleaning the tank this morning, and the little guy's arms and legs were limp ;-; He splashed him with some water, and no response :c They were all like.. do you want to see it before we bury him in the back yard? I'm like... No :c
I'm feeling kind of sad. I've had it for 13 years, and you could say that ''oh well at least you had some good memories,'' but that doesn't really make me feel happy since I wish I had set him free into a lake or a pond or something :s I think it would suck to be in a tank or locked in a tiny space like that... I think I'm not going to get anymore pets that have to go in a cage/tank. It's just too depressing of a life :c

Our dog had a bad leg and the vet said there was nothing they could except put him down. We couldn't afford it at the time though so we couldn't do it. Then a month or two later our dog was absolutely fine again :D It's a good job we didn't have him put down.
I am so sorry :( The only pet that I ever had, a cat, died when I was small and I don't remember how it happened. But he died just of old age.
Aww, I'm sorry. It's always horrible when a pet dies.
When I was 7, my pony Jigsaw died while we were away on holiday. :(
And last year our West Highland Terrier, which we had for 16 years died. She always took little seizures and had cataracts, so couldn't see very well. She took a seizure by the garden pond and fell in and drowned.
Omg poor turtley :( I bet he only died of old age though, which meant he went peacefully (: Id love a turtle, theyre my fave aminals.
I cried and cried when my liddle kitty Gizmo died. It was a horrible freak accident aswell. >.<
I'm so sorry to hear about your turtle :(
It's always so hard losing a pet. Even if they are old it doesn't make the loss any more bearable. It does get easier with time though.
I am so sorry about your turtle. :(
A few years ago, my cat I got when I was in fifth grade passed away. I had moved out from home by then and my dad rang me to tell me the news, was so sad but he lived many many good years. ;___;
Sorry to hear that. Loosing a pet is always horrible. But it still is a part of having them. After we had to put my last dog down my parents were all like "NO more dogs, we will never again want to go through that and be so sad.". But in my opinion the pet is very much love and fun as long as it with us. And it deserves that we are sad and all.
I think the most important is that whatever pet we have, that it has a good life. If it has to live in a cage or not, as long as we do everything for it, love it and make everything as good as possible for it, it's ok.
I know that all pets we lost had a good life and that made and still makes me feel better somehow.
D:
I have a turtle. I've almost had him for 7 years or so.
I know one day he'll die, but i like to think he enjoys where he is.
He likes to watch the cats and dog run around, and chase people as they walk by his tank. He also likes to try and eat your finger if you press it against the glass.
I hope it gets easier for you as time passes.
As for a pet death, when i originally got my turtle, i got him and another little one. That little guy ended up drowning D: He got caught upside down between a large rock in the tank, and the side of the tank. This had happened while i was at school (and family was at work) so by the time we found him, he was already gone.
aww sorry to hear that i hate it when pets die :(
last year my cat was killed by my next door neighbors dogs got out and attacked her in the field next to our house, our next door neighbors didn't tell me until i had found her the next day :(
sorry to hear about your turtle, my dog of 14 years passed last year in november. i'm sure that with time you'll feel better but i know it's hard losing a loved one.
My sand boa died last thursday and even though I had him only 7 months, it was very hard.
I am very sorry about your turtle, but I'm sure he had a good life :)
Lurking like lurkers do...
I'm really sorry to hear that ): losing a pet always hurts.
I lost my 8 year old siamese cat to leukemia a year ago. He had such a personality and I miss him waking me up before school every day and all of the other quirks he had. I miss him every day, but things will heal over time.
I'm sure your turtle left a very content life. You took care of him to the best of your ability. You obviously loved him and took care of him and were dedicated to him for 13 years. Don't feel bad about the tank/cage situation.
I remember losing my hamsters ): I wasn't really attached to them much and I didn't take care of them a lot(I was just eight and idk what to do) but I miss them greatly.
My mom hated the smell of them so we usually put them outside in the balcony(living in an apartment is hard, yo) It rained like damn hard and we forgot to put them inside. So when we went outside to take them in, their cage was flooded and they, well uh, drowned. I don't really remember much about it xD
Aw, poor Lin. hugs I lost a dog, a bulldog about 5 years ago. Some crazy lady was going around dropping poisoned meat into yards and my poor Beegee was one of the victims. D:
Oh, I'm so sorry.. :( I can still remember that when I was 5 or something, I had a fish tank with two goldfish in it. One day, I came home from school and I found one of my fish.. dead on the floor. (my parents said it was possible that the other fish pushed the fish out) I can still remember I couldn't stop stressing until my parents put a jar over the dead fish so I couldn't see it. ^^;;
Sorry to hear about your loss :( I'm always devastated when I loose a pet. Don't feel too bad about a turtle in a tank though; turtles are happy as long as they get fed well :) I own a few myself and you can clearly tell if they're happy or not.
I'm feeling okay today :) Thanks guys. Aaron () sent me a last night.. I thought that was sweet. I'm surprised by how many other people have turtles :p I always thought they were a pretty strange pet :p
And for the people who had dogs DX; I think that'd be way worse emotionally because dogs are always around, and they can let you know if they're distressed or in pain... Unlike turtles, which don't make much noise except the occasional shell hitting the tank sound when they're swimming about :c
O.o Someone poisoned your dog? Did you sue that crazy bitch? :p
Even though I'd like a siberian husky ATM :p I think I'd like.. mourn and go into a grieving process if I ever get/lose a dog =_=; PATHETIC! D:!
