I'm going to Ireland on Friday. I'll be there for two weeks and I'll be spending a lot of time in a plane or a car, so I need good books to entertain me while I'm there.
I love fantasy of all kinds. Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Garth Nix, all those kinds of writers. I'm ok with vampires, but not ecstatic about them and I'm interested in getting into Steampunk.
So, any suggestions?
I'd suggest The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling for a super unique medieval fantasy trilogy. The second book is Hidden Warrior and the last is The Oracle's Queen.
The Devouring by Simon Holt
Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson
Only ones I can think of right now ^_^;
[font=times new roman]
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski and The Dresden File series by Jim Butcher are both really good reads.
Mooncalled by Patricia Briggs
Stray by Rachel Vincent
And anything by King, as said before. I personally recommend the Dark Tower Series, starting with The Gunslinger. But, it's 7 books long, so you'll have to be in for the long haul. xD
Pendragon by D.J Machale
The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney
Anything by Stephen King ^_^ my pick would be The Stand since Trickery recommended The Dark Tower :D.
And the Vampire Hunter D novels are really good, you can find them in the manga.
Hrmm, what about... Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech
And as for steampunk, I'd have to say the Airborn trilogy by Kenneth Oppel. It's steampunk-ish. c;
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
I heard it was a good book. :D
Have you read all of Terry Pratchett's books? If not, read the rest! Also, I have a Discworld HA Contest

Have you read Ender's Game? I know most people have, but still. I love it.
Also, the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman is great as well. Very fantasy.
