Yes, I agree, they are terribly disturbing. But I guess we need to keep living with them, because people pay a lot of (real) money for them...

I've heard of people using adBlock to disable viewing the forum banners. I know you can go into the settings on your browser to block images from certain sites, but that blocks ALL images, not just the banners. :/

I believe you would just block this using AdBlock:
