I wanted to put something on my profile in a different language but I know that's not possible. Why aren't other languages allowed? Just curious.

The Staff speaks English. While individual Staff members may speak other languages in addition to English that is not true of the entire Staff. As we can only moderate a language we understand (and we do not have time or the resources to translate everything in a different language), we require users only use English. =)
