So, some time ago, I happened to have at my disposal a Glacier Potion, and I was itching for a Glacier pet of some sort, named Hagbard (explanation later).

Eventually I settled on a Mortiking, created him, potioned, and voilà.

Only... I don't know what I'm going to do with him:

First off, let's explain that Hagbard is a tribute character: Hagbard Celine, from the book Illuminatus!.

• Which, unfortunately, doesn't leave much room for imagination (though, based on the bizarre nature of the source, this could be argued).

• Which kills me, as I'm a roleplayer (however removed I have become). I need creativity to thrive. And I've already played with his appearance (which was pretty vague for the most part, canonically).

...So... I've been thinking. Should I strip him, pound him, and hope for the best for him (and adopt a new pet when next I find myself able)?

Or should I just scrounge and save for an EHW, change his name, and be done with the horrible idea of.... a year or so ago? And rebuild him from there?

I'm partially leaning towards the second option, but I'd like feedback from others before I come to a decision.

I have never created a pet after a character in a book, so I don't really know how you can role play a pet like that. xD;

I'm pretty sure that even if I did own a pet created after an existing character, I won't be able to keep him/her for long since I probably won't be able to do much with the pet. x:

Anyways, I don't see the point in keeping him if there's nothing to do with him. ): I think you should just put him UFA or pound him and create another pet. Unless you like the pet's ID number, Spending 20 mill on a pet you don't want with low stats is a waste of sP imo. xD;

: Indeed; it's pretty much impossible to roleplay with him - hence why he's basically sat there, a fairly-empty slate. This was my first time basing one off a pre-existing character, and more than likely my last. :x

Low stats have never bothered me, actually. I don't plan on battling, and as far as I'm concerned, that's all stats are a requisite for. shrug

I think the only reason I haven't dumped him already is because I lack a GA, and the thought of having an uneven number of pets is depressing (so having that spot vacant for an indeterminate amount of time would drive me batshit). XD

I don't know. Think I'll drop him off, and go with the flow.

You can also use the book character as BASE and make something new with him by adding things? Changing little bits?

Etc.

That's what I do with every single of my Pets that's NOT based on an OC. :3

i agree. you could base it on the character.

this is what i am doing with my idea for the marauders. i am basing it on the characters but I am creating the characters using information from the book.
