Is there anything that will help your chances of getting a job? For example, do pets with higher stats have a bigger chance of being hired or is it just totally random?

It's pretty much random, but there are speculation of intelligence helping.

My pet Xiahou has an intelligence of 503, and he can still get fired, denied promotions, and not hired... u_u
