How can I get rid of the splashy background on my forum posts?

Right now, you can't. I imagine it will disappear automatically once the plot is over.

If you're using firefox, you can use the adblock plus extension to get rid of it. Add a filter for http://images.subeta.net/bg_waterballoons.gif
