So I have both Shep and Shepherd, and I can't decide which to keep. I'm definitely not keeping both.

They both look exactly the same right now, so which name do you think I should keep? Reasons would be good.

Shep sounds better. I like nick names for longer ones. ^_^ And it sounds cuter.

I like Shepherd. Sounds more dignified.

Shep seems to fit him a bit better. :) Although I shouldn't talk, since I have a slight bias.

Shep is a really cute name. Sounds kinda nice and short.

But you could always keep Shepherd and just have Shep as its nickname. =]
