[li]Alright, to start with, every one of these MM-run stickies should have the title formatted like this one, and you will fill in the blank with the name of your forum board.
[li]For boards that have co-MMs: The MM creating the thread should have their co-MM make a post after the OP for extra space if needed. Both MMs should be able to edit the first post though.
[li]Make sure your formatting is clear and concise, with the most important threads first. Try to use some common sense in deciding how to order the threads in your sticky.
[li]When you list the threads, be sure to link to the thread and include what the thread is about. If you want to categorize, go ahead. And remember, if there's something in another forum that's relevant to your forum, go ahead and link to it as well!
[li]These stickies will be updated and kept going by you yourselves. No need to ask if something should be added or not, though if you have doubts or second thoughts, or just trouble deciding, feel free to ask me!
[li]If you are assigned to a board that has a "Useful _____ Threads" sticky that was created by another MM, please recreate the sticky under your username and move the old one to the CSS Trash Bin.
[li]Once your thread is ready to be moved to your board, smail me or with a link to have it moved.
[li]Also, whenever you have updated or made any changes to your "Useful _____ Threads" sticky, please sMail to let her know so that she can update our backup copies.
I think that covers most of it. Post questions if you have them!
Are these one for each forum, or for each subforum, too?
She said to only make subforum ones if they're absolutely necessary. C:
Yeah I talked to Nikki a little more about it. Thanks!
This is just to cut down on the amount of stickies, right? How would I go about this for the Roleplaying forum?
There's not too much to link to there.
I know in the past that we were not allowed to link to other sites, including SubHQ, in topics that were stickies. Does this rule still apply or are we now allowed to link to them as well?
Are we allowed to link to threads in this Useful Threads sticky that have been locked? I had one thread in Useful GD Threads sticky that has since had the OP request a lock. Can I keep up the link since it's still useful (it's a guide to untaken usernames) or, since nothing can be contributed, should it be locked (and it can be remade if still needed)? I would think I should take it out, but I don't see any actual ruling about it and the OP asked.
Sure, if its still current. If you end up noticing a lot of the names get taken, you may as well remove it. Someone will most likely make another so you can replace it with that if one is made.
made the Useful Topics thread in battle. Is it ok if I edit her thread with changes? I don't want to step on any toes :P
I actually have the same question as because created the useful threads sticking in the HA forum.
is the existing stickies guru and no changes should be made to existing stickies without letting her know, as she retains backup copies (which are very important and need to be kept up-to-date in case something happens to the stickies -- sometimes they disappear or get eaten, etc.)
With regards to 's existing stickies in the HA forum, she should also be worked directly with regarding any updates or replacements for her threads (with notified of any changes, as usual). ^_^
- So we should let know when we update something in our sticky threads? (I know I've had a couple users ask for their things to be removed until they are completely how they would like them.) I did not know this. xD
