Hi guys I just wanted to create a new pet and put the name in stars as I did in my previous pets, but I'm being told that there are invalid characters in the pet name O.o What's that? Is that new? Did I make a mistake? Help please! Thanks!

Sounds like you're not allowed to put asterisks in pet names any more. As far as I know, spaces aren't allowed any more either.
