Keep or zap? This is one of my favorite experiments, but I've been zapping him for a glade pet... Help??

I'd keep him like that, definitely! The Glade Potion isn't too expensive anymore so you could also save up for it, being lucky with zapping for a special Experiment however can be VERY frustrating and the Potion that can change your Pet to an Experiment isn't cheap at all.
