Are the new MC Books readable, I saw someone mention in the comments at least one allegedly was not?

I bought the Gilded Item Tome last night... had no read option. Not sure on the other one.

According to HQ, the Gilded Item Tome lets you skip to level 50 and the Ornamental Item Catalogue lets you skip any 10 levels up to level 60. But neither are readable xD
