i was on level 2 and instead of 4000 it only gave 2000. is this happening to anyone else?

Lower levels give 1k, medium levels give 2k, and I believe higher levels give 3k.

what are the low, medium, and high levels? Is the low level 1-50 or something?

not much help, but i remember getting a lot more sp at level 20

You're right, it did suddenly increase (I just did levels 21-25) from 20000 to 42000 and then increased by 2000 sp each time.
