If I buy a lizard minion trap and the repellent spray and lock them in my inventory, will they still work with the lizard random events?

Also, will i keep having to buy the spray after each event I get? or is it more than 1 use?

they don't dissapear unless you delete/sell/donate them. and yes they work fine locked.
