Thanks, but I don't think I'm asking the right question...I think I want to ask what the "ideal" size is for a two-part forumset...

it varies from graphic designer to graphic designer. Your best bet is to work on a 325x450 canvas and crop your forumset. as long as it's with in the limits i posted it's fine.
