you can dig for gems there.

Basically, you can dig/click up gems at the caves. I just start machine-gun clicking until it says that I found one.

So I don't need anything to dig? I just click on the picture? :P

Move your cursor around in the cave and when it turns into a hand, something is there to dig up. You could also find a Shrine of Apollonia in the caves.
