I've been meaning to ask for a while but since I don't normally spend a lot of time in the forum I've been putting it off, but how do you ping someone?

Yep, just putting an @ before their username will ping them.

Oh, you can also click the little man with the yellow ! sign on him in their post. It will automatically put the ping in your reply for you.
