I'm confused, I've read several people say to 'Ping' them in the event forum.

Now, here's the question. What in blazes is a 'Ping'?

It's when you put an @ sign just before their username.

I just pinged you c:

Clicking this little icon will also 'ping' a user

It will also alert them that you mentioned them, when you "ping" them. Like that! :D

pinging someone lets them know they have been mentioned on a forum! :D its good to use if you want someone to say something back to you :)

All it does is to bring the attention of the person that got pinged to a thread on the forums c:

, if someone has an unusual character in their username like a dash or an asterisk, and if you ping them from typing the @ + username instead of clicking the tiny icon in the UR of their post, you need to put an underscore instead of that symbol, otherwise your ping will not work
