No, not pet names. I have a ton of nice ones that I'm very grateful to have. But I need help naming the characters the pets represent.
Paranormally, for example, is Dr. Paran Zared Morpheus. As you can see, "Paran" is taken from the pet's name. Zared and Morpheus are more relevant to the character. But I've been having issues with first names, that is, semi-realistic sounding names derived at least in part from the spelling/pronunciation of my pets' names.
Incise - Male, should at least start with "I" or "In," and a strong "Z" sound would be awesome.
Shots - Female, a "Sho" name? At least "Sh" would be cool.
Satisfy - Female, I keep referring to her as "Issy," at least from her child apprentice's point of view. So maybe something related to that? shrug
Don't worry too much about what the characters are based on and their personalities. Just throw down anything and everything you think of. Doesn't have to be a real name. Paran sure isn't! I'v just e had these three for a while, and I love their characters, but "Dr. Incise" just isn't very realistic sounding. >_<
Let me know if this is in the wrong place. I just don't think there's a character development subforum...
At the moment all I can think of is Shannon for Shots and probably Isabelle/Isabella for Satisfy. :o
Hmm, For Incise maybe Izak? For shots maybe Shon or Shona? And for Satisfy maybe Isabella or Christine?
There actually is a character development subforum, just an extremely dead one. Over in roleplaying, I do believe.
Ianus or Isaac for Incise? Shoba or Shobhana for Shots? Isabel (and its variants) is all I can really think of for Satisfy, but that seems to be everyone's point of view. :p
Shots I think of a shorten term of Shoddah (was a name of a dog I knew I really liked it.) Shaw-dah or Shawna
Satisfy- or an Issy name, what about Elisabeth, Isabella, ilissa (eye-lie-za) or iliza for spelling.
Incise -Isacc, Zack, Ian, Izel, Ize, Ixtli ? Zore ? Incisor = incise zore.. XD ok my tired man thinks its funny.
That's all I can think of, hope it helps somewhat.

Lollypop, , , and Thanks so much for the suggestions! I don't know why, but I've been brain-farting so hard on these guys and their names. Its annoying as all hell. As for Incise Zore, that's so creepy-dentist, and I didn't even think of working a creepy dentist angle. I was definitely going down the "deranged surgeon" line, but now you got me thinking. :P As for Shoddah, I have never heard that before, but it's kinda pretty. thinks
I remember once wanting to use the name I'satta for Satisfy, a name she'd share with a fictional Liberian child soldier. I may actually end up using that, as she has always been meant to be from the African continent, and though I don't know if it's actually a Liberian name, I have seen no evidence to suggest that it could not be as such. shrug I had almost forgotten about that.
In any case, I dunno yet. I'm letting these names go over and over in my tired brain, and we'll definitely see.
Ohhh, those are some nice names too. I completely understand the frustration - I'm reworking all my pets and finding the perfect fit (weather it be name, story, art, etc.) can be so difficult sometimes! Good luck :)
Thank you :)
Incise-Innis, Indra, not sure about the Z sound though, maybe Zed, Zar, something like that? Sho- Siobhan(Irish female name, usually pronounced Shovanne). If you're looking for having Sho, in the name then maybe Shawna, Shane, something to that degree. Issy-Isobelle, Lisbeth?
@ Syl I agonize for so many hours over character names when writing. I feel your pain.
For whatever reason, when I think of a name for Incise, I keep coming back to Ingwald, pronounced with a 'v' instead of a 'w'. No Z though, maybe a last name of Zaine (though that makes me think of In-Zane... XD For Shots I thought of Shophora, or Shoffany. And for Satisfy I thought of Sissy, Tissy, Fyone, and Atrice.
Good luck with the names! C: I figured I'd just post my thoughts, since I took the time to think about it.
Edit: I had no idea Siobhan was pronounced that way! Wow. And that name is used rather often in some of the fanfictions I read. Learn something new every day. ^_^
Why thanks for the suggestions! I ended up using I'satta for Satisfy. The others are still... being a pain, though I've been stressing about college transfer applications and haven't had time to think on it much.
I had no clue how to pronounce Siobhan either. :D It's a real pretty name.
