Yes there is. The other user must be on your friends list, but under 'personal' and 'pets', you can chose the 'give pet to friend' option. :)

Edit: Just a side note; they won't be able to give the pet back to you that way for a month.

Yes, we now have the option to give a Pet away to a friend. You can find the link on the page where all your Pets are listed (Personal - Pets). C:

There's the Give Pet to Friend option listed when you go see your pets from the dropdown menu.
