I've never heard of such a thing. The only random events, that effect pets, I've experienced are stats or TC spaces.

No, there are no events that change your pets color, because if someone spent like 7 mil on a nightmare potion and it randomly got changed to a chibi pet then it would be such an unfortunate and stupid event that wastes peoples sp. The only changes that can be made are TC and stats but thats it.
