I have a few questions on the matter; Do they keep getting hungrier, even when you've been logged out? Or does it just reset to famished at the end/start of every day? Also, how long does it take for a pet to die of starvation?

Pets will continue to get hungry. You either need to feed them yourself or put them in the resort at Veta Lake. They also do not die; however, if a pet gets too hungry you will not be able to enjoy all aspects of the site, such as battling.

Pets can't die for one. They slowly get hungrier over time. Even if you are logged out. Easiest remedy is to put them in the Lakeview Resort in Veta Lake.
