is there a way to move the clothes from your wardrobe back to your inventory?

in your wardrobe just put them on and then check the box next to their name, and select "checked to inventory"

You can also use the Wardrobe section of the Wardrobe to mass select more items than you can wear at any one time. Instead of moving the selected stuff into a Drawer you have created, move it to your Inventory instead.
